Full-Time Visiting Professor in Montessori Education

Candidates will be expected to teach any and all courses leading to
a Montessori elementary credential, including Elementary
Foundations, Elementary Mathematics and an undergraduate
seminar in Montessori education. Candidate will also observe
candidates in the field.

Additional duties will include advising students, reading master’s
theses, and reviewing student assessment forms and entering
assessments into Taskstream (online assessment system). Service
on Kalmanovitz School of Education committees is also expected.
All faculty are expected to contribute to the mission of the College,
which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic,
Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions.

Experience and Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or doctorate in Montessori Education required
• Three years of experience teaching Montessori education (beyond
student teaching) at the elementary level is required. Experience at
both the lower elementary and upper elementary levels is preferred
• Experience teaching in a Montessori credential program is
• Experience supervising or mentoring Montessori credential
students is preferred
• Ability to teach, advise and mentor a culturally and educationally
diverse student body
• Appreciation of and deep respect for the learning/teaching
environment and for the students, staff, and faculty who comprise it
and the willingness to become a stakeholder in the Lasallian
commitment to that environment
• Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and
multicultural community
