Full-Time Recruitment Specialist,Veteran Grant Project, Nursing

Job Description

The College of St. Scholastica seeks to enhance the quality
of healthcare in rural and underserved communities in
Minnesota by adapting the College’s highly successful BS
program in Nursing to the unique needs and prior leadership
experiences of veterans. This federal grant funded project
will serve as a model for engaging veterans in improving the
health status of rural populations by boosting their
participating in the RN workforce.

The Recruitment Specialist will recruit and retain qualified
veterans as applicants and students in the undergraduate
nursing program at The College of St. Scholastica.

Responsibilities:
– Plan and execute a marketing plan for recruitment of
veterans into the undergraduate nursing program.- Recruit
qualified veterans as applicants to the undergraduate
nursing program through on-line and in-person,
presentations, open houses, recruitment fairs, etc.
throughout Minnesota.
– Retain qualified veterans as students in the
undergraduate nursing program at The College of St.
Scholastica.
– Encourage and maintain open lines of communication with
prospective veteran students and their families and conduct
regular follow-up of all applicants to ensure completion of
all admission steps (acceptance, housing, financial aid,
insurance, matriculation, and registration) prior to
enrollment.
– Create, monitor and manage databases, records and
correspondence for the grant program.
– Demonstrate cultural competence in effectively working
with diverse populations.
Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree. and two years related work experience
or
Equivalent combination of training and experience as
determined by Human Resources.
– Demonstrated experience working in and leading teams.
– Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are
necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability
to present the College and Nursing Program in a positive way
to diverse populations.
– Experience using technology to implement, maintain and
update data
– Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare
reports.
– Ability to travel and work evening and occasional weekend
hours.
– Ability to represent the department positively through a
strong, student-centered ethic.
– Ability to work effectively both independently and as part
of a team.
– Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree and three or more years related work
experience
or
Equivalent combination of training and experience as
determined by Human Resources.
– Experience coordinating programs.
– Experience working with members of the military/veterans.
– Experience in recruiting.
– Database management skills
