Full-Time Programmer/Analyst

Job Description

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Old
Westbury seeks forward-looking, innovative, enthusiastic
and ambitious team players and high performers to fill the
position of Programmer/Analyst. Position Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, modify and document application
• Review and analyze user specifications in the
writing of programming code.
• Verify program logic by preparing test data and
performing trial runs.
• Determine causes of program malfunctions.
• Provide technical assistance, training and advice
to staff and user.
• Responsible for the application system interfaces
to various ancillary software including the data
integration and synchronization between systems.
• Analyze user data requests and develop queries,
create reports, data extract, etc., utilizing various
reporting tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Information
Systems, Computer Science or related area. Demonstrated 1+
years of functional and technical experience in
successfully implementing, maintaining or supporting ERP
systems required for any one of the following modules:
Student, Financial Aid, Finance or equivalent. Ability to
effectively communicate with both end users and technical
personnel within IT as well as with external vendors.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United
States. In lieu of experience, will consider applicants
with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a GPA of
3.5. Evidence of GPA required at interview.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in using database from
a programming perspective (e.g. Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, SQR or
equivalent). Knowledge and experience with shell scripting
languages (e.g., Bourne, Bash, Korn or equivalent).
