Full-Time Program Coordinator

Job Description

Full-time professional administrative position, working as part of a team, will assist the director of Student Development Programs in the planning, development, coordination and implementation of various aspects of the department. The Program Coordinator for student organizations and leadership has responsibility for the development and coordination of recognized student organizations, development and implementation of leadership programs and advising of the homecoming committee. This position provides support and guidance to all registered and recognized student organizations and organization advisors through advising, leadership development, organizational development, resource development, and program planning assistance. They are responsible for the ongoing development and usage of OrgSync software across campus to more effectively document and assess student involvement. The Program Coordinator will develop and implement leadership programs, which include but are not limited to, the student leader retreat, leadership awards, and fall lecture. This position advises the students in the planning of Homecoming activities and coordinates the Homecoming Court selection process and other related programs. The Program Coordinator will conduct ongoing assessment, research, and evaluation of programs and assist in the administrative responsibility for budget development and management of budgets for programs under the responsibility of position. This position also coordinates select departmental sponsored programs and provides onsite event management as needed for large departmental programs and other programs as directed.

Master’s degree in student personnel, counseling and development, higher education, or similar field required. Experience in coordinating and advising of student organization, leadership development programs, and program development preferred. Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development and educational administration, and public relations required. Experience in the development and presentation of workshops, classes, and training preferred. Understanding of the cultural, social, educational, and recreational needs of the campus community required. Ability to stimulate student interest and involvement required. Ability to work with and relate to a diverse public required. Strong organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple demands in a setting of high student contact and interaction required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Publisher).
