Part-Time Part-time Experiential Learning Coordinator – Skills Institutes (12530)

Job Description

Experiential Learning is seeking a highly organized student with strong communication skills to help administer practical, skills-focused learning experiences at SIS. The Experiential Learning Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Experiential Learning to support one of SIS’s core professional experience programs, the Skills Institutes.

Skills Institutes are 1-credit intensive, practitioner-led workshops that enable students to gain the technical tools and competencies sought by today’s employers.

The Experiential Learning Coordinator will provide administrative and communications support to these programs, and help to evaluate them. The position is also an excellent opportunity to offer student perspective and input on the types of experiential and professional opportunities that are offered at SIS.

Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage all logistics and communication for Skills Institute Courses.
  • Sticking to a fixed project schedule with minimal delays.
  • Updating the website, forms, and email communications.
  • Maintaining clear and timely communications with students, faculty, and administrators.
  • Supporting professors with all logistics for weekend courses (scheduling, catering, technology support,
    scheduling, checking course objectives and materials, etc.)
  • Manage the skills institute email inbox.
  • Maintain the Skills Institute website using Common Spot.
  • Collect and analyze data on student demand for and evaluations of Skills Institutes.
  • Advertise courses, events, and other Experiential Learning opportunities to the SIS graduate student body.
  • Coordinate Experiential Learning activities with Program Directors and Coordinators, Graduate Advising,
    Career Services, Alumni Relations, the Registrar, and other campus offices as necessary.
  • Contribute a student perspective on the strategic objectives and activities of SIS Experiential Learning.

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, organization, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • A positive, troubleshooting, customer service mindset when interacting with students and faculty.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Common Spot and Blackboard administration.
  • Familiarity with Publisher, Photoshop, or other software for creating flyers.
  • Survey design and administration experience, using Google Forms or Qualtrics.
  • Program evaluation experience.
