The University of Central Florida (UCF) in partnership with

the University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP),

Florida International University (FIU), and the Florida

State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ) established the

Florida Consortium on Inclusive Higher Education

(Consortium) through an United States Department of

Education Grant. It is expected that the Consortium and

this position will be funded by the Transition Programs for

Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSID) grant and

UCF through September 30, 2020. Reporting to the Director

of the Consortium, with a dual report to the Director of

Inclusive Education Services at UCF, this position is

responsible for providing full administrative and

programming assistance to the Consortium. This position

will also be responsible for providing some administrative

and programming assistance to the Office of Inclusive

Education Services.

Essential Functions

• Provide administrative assistance including but not

limited to, payroll, budget reconciliation and projections,

purchasing, scheduling and event planning, travel

arrangements, and communication for the Director of the

Florida Consortium on Inclusive Higher Education.

• Assist the Director in accomplishing three major


o Expand the number of inclusive postsecondary education

programs on campuses across Florida for young adults with

intellectual disabilities and their families.

o Collaborate with all Florida postsecondary programs for

students with intellectual disabilities and other key

stakeholders to facilitate alignment of curriculum and

credentialing among the institutions.

o Develop a base of meaningful research in this area and

to disseminate the research through peer-reviewed articles,

conference presentations, and training.

• Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) of the TPSID grant

to comply with and administer all aspects of the grant.

• Assist in manage all funds associated with the TPSID

grant. Assist with working in conjunction with UCF Office

of Research and Commercialization to manage the budget.

• Assist with maintaining the Consortium’s website with

updated information and develop other communication

strategies to inform stakeholders of the Consortium’s


• Assist with the closeout or renewal of the grant

• Office Assistant will have a dual report to the Director

of Inclusive Education Services (IES) and will be

responsible for providing backup administrative support to

the unit as needed when the Office Manager is unavailable.

o Assist in programming and supporting the IES staff at

various functions, events and outreach activities.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and four years of appropriate

experience. Appropriate college coursework or

vocational/technical training may substitute at an

equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum

requirements of the position do not require post high

school education, an applicant is not required to provide

the information on the application.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities with budget

management, travel arrangements, scheduling, purchasing and

event planning.

• Excellent writing and oral communication skills

• Experience with PeopleSoft, Excel and Microsoft products.
