Full-Time Marketing Coordinator

Job Description

The Darden College of Education at Old Dominion University
is seeking candidates for the Marketing Coordinator
(full-time, 12 month) position. The chief objective of this
position is to advance the Dean’s priorities and the
College’s initiatives to market the academic programs and
services and enhance the professional reputation of the
Darden College of Education to internal and external
constituents. The position will play a critical role in
leading recruitment activities in the college, including: 1)
growing and maintaining a robust community of partners and
potential applicants, 2) identifying and developing
recruiting and partnership opportunities, 3) developing and
executing a strategic comprehensive marketing, 4) creating a
recruitment and communication plan to promote academic
programs, departments, and services; 5) directing
enhancement of the digital identity of the College, 6)
designing publications and written communication pieces, and
7) participating in outreach activities throughout the
Commonwealth and beyond.

Required Education: Master’s degree in related field
or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with experience
equivalent to a master’s degree.

Required Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and
experience in Microsoft packages and graphic design
software. Experience and demonstrated ability to interpret
market research, identify new markets, and work
collaboratively with other campus departments to coordinate
recruitment materials and activities. Experience and
demonstrated ability to analyze data to interpret enrollment
trends. Ability to gather, organize, and archive marketing
and outreach information to the University. Ability to
create, edit, and manage text and the production of
marketing materials. Outstanding oral and written
communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability
to work with diverse constituents. Ability to develop and
implement recruitment strategies for graduate and
undergraduate programs. Ability to work closely with other
departments to support and enhance recruitment strategies.
Ability to develop skills in implementing and utilizing the
electronic monitoring systems employed by the University to
identify, track, and support potential students. Available
for weekend and weeknight recruitment functions, as well as
occasional overnight travel. Ability to create a strong,
vibrant and humane environment that embrace all forms of

Preferred Qualifications: Considerable experience in
marketing and/or public relations using latest technology in
higher education, preferably in colleges of education with
progressive responsibility in managing and leading teams.


Education: Master’s Degree Preferred
Work Experience: 3-5 Years
