Full-Time Lecturer – TV/Multimedia Manager

Job Description

The State University of New York at Old Westbury invites applications for a full-time position in television/multimedia at the rank of Lecturer effective January 2018.

Principal responsibilities include:

  • managing the multimedia production facility;
    teaching TV/media courses;
    supervising student interns and student staff;
    facilitating the production, distribution, and promotion of student media;
    providing the technical, pedagogical and managerial support needed to develop campus TV/multimedia resources;
    working with faculty on strategic planning for facility upgrades and initiatives;
    grant writing;
    facilitating co-curricular student activities;
    participating in department meetings and committees, student media, student advisement, and college service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an MFA or MA degree in media or equivalent degree in a related field.
    Professional experience in TV/video or multimedia production or journalism.
    Experience teaching media production.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing a media production facility.
    Experience utilizing new media platforms, social media, or citizen media for community engagement or social justice.
    Experience teaching or mentoring an ethnically diverse, working student body at the college level.
    A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in TV/video or multimedia production or journalism.
    Previous supervisory and project management experience.
