Interim Resident Dean

Job Description

We invite applications for the position of Resident Dean, reporting to the Director of Residential Life. Landmark
College, located in southern Vermont, is the premier two and four year institution for students who learn
differently. As the nation’s first accredited college for bright students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and ASD,
Landmark is committed to providing the best support for students in and outside of the classroom.

This an interim four month live-in position responsible for all aspects of a diverse residential community of 75-90
students. Resident Deans are responsible for a variety of administrative, operational, educational, programmatic and
developmental functions within the residence halls. This includes fostering student development and a sense of
community within the residence hall, counseling and advising individual students, serving on college committees
and supervising a staff of Resident Assistants. Resident Deans are required to work nontraditional hours including
evenings, weekends and various times throughout the year.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Other benefits include an apartment within the residence hall, meal plan,
two reserved parking spaces directly next to your hall, a laptop computer for your office, and a free Office 365
subscription while employed. Candidate review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications include: A master’s degree in Student Life Administration, Counseling or a related field is preferred,
or, a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational
skills. The Resident Dean must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, display strong commitment to student learning and social justice, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with individuals inside and outside the College. The ability to handle sensitive/confidential information is critical, as is flexibility. Experience working with students with learning differences is a plus.
