Full-Time Honors Program Coordinator

Job Description

Bergen Community College is seeking an Honors Program Coordinator to provide oversight to the Judith K. Winn School of Honors whose goal is to provide students with an enriched and challenging academic community of learners and to facilitate the transfer of students to competitive public or private four year colleges and universities. This position will attend to the day to day operation of the honors program, honors courses, co-curricular learning experiences and all other activities necessary to achieve program objectives. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to coordinating various functions of the honors program such as student recruitment, academic advising, registration, new student orientation, student recognition ceremonies, tracking of academic progress, transfer assistance and other related student services; preparing and coordinating internal and external marketing efforts to include planning/preparing campaigns; delivering presentations for public education programs; providing student services and support for retention purposes; working with deans and department chairs to schedule courses and coordinate professional development opportunities for instructors; administering and monitoring budget, assisting in developing proposals for external funding of education programs and maintaining record-keeping systems; compiling data, producing assessment reports and maintaining student records; coordinating educational partnerships; managing the publication process of the newsletter and journal; providing support to the honors program director and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in conducting student leadership or other training programs, program planning and development in a college environment preferred.
• Experience facilitating, mediating and problem solving in a group environment is desirable.
• Working understanding of budgeting and standard accounting practices.
• Computer proficiency with MS office in addition to database applications.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and written communications skills and be committed to continuous
learning, collaboration and quality improvement.
• Ability to complete complex tasks within tight time constraints and work effectively with diverse populations.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
• Must exhibit strong skills in customer and student focus, building relationships, organizing and planning.
