Curry College is accepting applications for a full-time 10 month Evening Program Coordinator. The Evening Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, marketing, implementing and evaluating events and programs within the Student Center. The incumbent will assist student organization in program development and
implementation, provide general supervision of the Student Center and student employee staff during evenings and some weekends. He/she will ensure general safety and well-being of all those utilizing the building, as well as enforcing all policies and procedures of the Student Center and Curry College. He/she will assist the Director of Student Activities & the Student Center in the operations, reservations and management of the Student Center. The hours are non-traditional, Monday – Friday 2pm-10PM.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

Programming
• Responsible for the planning and implementation of major traditional campus events (Pep Rallies, Late Night
Breakfast, First Year Class events, Summer Orientation Activities, & First Year Welcome Week activities).
• Responsible for planning theme weeks and other large-scale programs in the Student Center.
• Support the work of the Retention Committee work teams with the implementation of programs and initiatives that target the following subpopulations (First Year Commuter Students, First Year undecided Students, First Year traditionally underrepresented populations).

Operations:
• Provide program and operational support for events, including planning, marketing, set-up needs, technical
equipment and other arrangements.
• Report and resolve problems within the Student Center facility including but not limited to emergencies, incidents, and customer needs while following proper action and/or reporting protocols.
• Assist clubs and organizations with event planning and walkthroughs.
• Be available to support programs occurring in the Student Center facility.
• Ensure safety, security, and customer service standards are met.
• Make hourly rounds to monitor building usage, secure areas not in use, check condition of the Student Center
facility and check in with student employees on duty.
• Support and maintain the room reservations for the building, including supervision of student reservationists.
• Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Advancement to ensure that the digital signage in the Student Center
building is up to date.

Supervision:
• Supervise student staff on duty during their shifts.
• Supervise, as needed, Intramural/Recreation activities occurring in the Fitness Center Gymnasium or Game Room.

Advisor & Advocate:
• Communicate appropriate college policies, procedures, and philosophies to student organizations in terms of campus programming and the use of the Student Center.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
• Serve on campus committees as liaison by request or assignment.
• Supervise evening and weekend programs and activities as required or assigned.
• Provide office representation at college-wide special events.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of experience in student affairs, with a focus dedicated to student activities and/or student unions.

• At least two years of building operations and event management experience.

•Intermediate computer skills and efficiency utilizing complex computing applications on the systems and programs of College’s choice; currently by way of example, Microsoft Office Suite, Event Management Software (Check I’m Here).

• Desired advanced level of skill with Scheduling Software, (25Live & Microsoft Outlook) but training can be provided as necessary; comfortable utilizing Social Media Applications (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

• Must have a basic level of skill with Digital Signage Software (AxisTV) and Database Management (Banner) but training can be provided as necessary.

• Driver’s license is required as some use of a golf cart and a 15 passenger vans may be necessary.

• Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.

• Strong sense of humor is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration or Student Personnel.

• Emergency management training and experience; experience with Audio Visual Systems is helpful; experience
supervising student employees is helpful.

At the College’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the college, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
