Full-Time Director of Intercultural Affairs

Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948,
Stonehill is a private Catholic college located just 22
miles from downtown Boston on a beautiful 384-acre campus
in Easton, Massachusetts. With a student to faculty ratio
of 13:1, the College engages its 2,400+ students in 80+
rigorous academic programs in the liberal arts, sciences,

Stonehill Colleges seeks applicants for the Director of
Intercultural Affairs to provide administrative leadership
to the office, is a key leader in the division of Student
Affairs, and is a professional who works collaboratively
across divisions to assist the College community in
achieving strategic initiatives related to diversity,
equity, and inclusion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the
department and coordinates the formulation and
communication of departmental mission, goals, and policies
• Serves as a member of the Vice President’s
leadership team and works collaboratively with colleagues
within the division
• Serves as a critical leader in fostering a campus
culture in which differences are embraced and works to
advance the College’s mission of diversity and inclusion
through actively creating, supporting, and carrying out
college-wide diversity initiatives
• Directly manages an annual budget for programming,
project based initiatives, and institutional strategies
• Serves as the Primary Designated Official (PDSO)
for Student Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS)
• Directly selects, trains, and advises ALANA-A
(African, Latino(a), Asian, and Native American – Allies)
Brothers and Sisters who lead the campus in peer diversity
training
• Works collaboratively with various offices to
promote student success and to address the needs of
students of color
• Provides advisement and mentorship to identity-
based affinity groups and student organizations with
diversity-related missions
• Oversees the development, implementation, and
assessment of various programming addressing issues of
diversity, inclusion, and social justice
• Acts as the primary coordinator for the Bias
Response Protocol

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong communication (both written and verbal),
organizational, and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to promote collaboration and teamwork and
involve stakeholders in the decision-making process
• Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of
student development theory, specifically as it applies to
students of color and underrepresented populations

Qualifications
• Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and the
academic, intellectual, and social development of all
students
• Demonstrated success with students from
underrepresented populations as well as an understanding
of how to effectively outreach to populations at
predominantly white institutions
• Demonstrated success in integrating theory with
practice in higher education, multicultural affairs,
identity-based programming, and identity-conscious
approaches to leadership and engagement
• Demonstrated experience in assessment and
evaluation

Education and/or Experience
• Master’s degree required; minimum of 6 years
related experience and/or training
• Experience with supervision of staff members from
diverse backgrounds
