About SUNY Cobleskill:

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill is an accredited polytechnic
college that is primarily baccalaureate and residential. SUNY Cobleskill is one of few institutions in the United States where an undergraduate student may also choose to earn an associate degree. The College has an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students in 52 programs divided into two schools – Agriculture and Natural Resources; Business and Liberal Arts & Sciences. Job Description:

1. Assist the College with developing, and be responsible for the implementation of the College’s Orientation Program. Responsible for the integration of the program into already existing programs such as, but not limited
to, Open House, Accepted Student Day, and the FFCS curriculum.

2. Develop and deliver presentations to FFCS and other classes.

3. Develop and deliver campus events and engagement opportunities.

4. Responsible for and assist with campus engagement revolving around clubs, organizations and unaffiliated
organizations and groups. Assist in developing and establishing the expectations and goals of these groups in collaboration with SUNY Cobleskill protocols.

5. Working collaboratively with the Student Life Center, mange the transitions of unaffiliated or unrecognized
groups to becoming affiliated and/or recognized through established protocols.

6. Although not acting as an advisor to any individual club, organization or group, serve as a resource to assist all advisors in engaging the clubs and organizations in developing and implementing programs that encompass campus engagement and community service.

7. Develop and deliver training and programming in topics including, but not limited to, diversity and inclusion, equity, and community development.

8. Assist and support the College’s Chief Diversity Officer in the shaping of the campus diversity and inclusion initiative.

9. Facilitate events, activities, and engagement opportunities for individuals and groups regarding community engagement and community service.

10. Other duties as agreed upon with supervisor.

Requirements:

Master’s degree required, or completed within one year of appointment; three to five years experience working on a residential college campus within Student Affairs, Residential Life, or Student Life divisions

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with nationally affiliated organizations; experience in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive first time and transfer student orientation program

Additional Information:

This position offers full New York State benefits which are among the most comprehensive in the country. Salary range for this position is $45,000 – $47,000.

This is a 12 month, SL-3, full-time, UUP represented position.
