Full-Time Coordinator for Staff Recruitment and Development

Job Description

The Department of Housing and Residential Education works
to create an inclusive on-campus housing environment that

and leadership. The Department of Housing and Residential
Education consists of educators, full-time professional
staff, and para-professional student staff who, through
exemplary facilities management, organizational
effectiveness, student-centered learning, and assessment
initiatives, strive for student success, self-awareness,
and satisfaction.

The Coordinator for Staff Recruitment & Development is
full-time, 12-month, appointment with the Department of
Housing and Residential Education within Student Affairs.
The position is categorized as Exempt from the State
Personnel Act (EPA) Non-Faculty employee, categorized as
Instructional.

Position Overview
In conjunction with the Residential Education Leadership
Team, Community Director Staff and/or hiring
constituents, the Coordinator for Staff Recruitment &
Development will develop a comprehensive recruitment,
selection, and training plan for all student staff in the
department. The Coordinator will also facilitate all
student staff evaluation processes. The Coordinator for
Staff Recruitment & Development will serve in the on-call
crisis rotation for the Department of Housing and
Residential Education. During their tenure, the
Coordinator may have the opportunity to instruct a
section of the Peer Leadership in University Environments
(PLUE) course.

The successful candidate has a passion for working with a
diverse student population, is committed to student
learning and development, and has strong critical
thinking and problem solving skills. A successful staff
member demonstrates initiative, possesses the ability to
work autonomously as well as part of a team, and
maintains a positive attitude. Strong supervisory,
administrative, communication, and counseling skills are
essential.

Qualifications and Compensation
A Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher
Education Administration, College Student Development, or
related degree is required. A minimum of three years
professional experience is also required. Experience in
developing and implementing staff training and selection
process is required. Understanding issues of diversity;
demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in promoting
respect and appreciation for diversity and pluralism
among students and staff required. Ability to utilize
technology in the facilitation of recruitment and
training is preferred. Experience with programs such as
ERezLife, StarRez, Guidebook, SharePoint, and Student
Voice are preferred.

Annual salary is $45,000. The Staff Recruitment &
Development Coordinator receives a University benefits
package
