Job Description

The University Police Department at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the management/confidential position of Chief of Police.  Reporting to the Vice President of Student Development, expectations include the overall command of the University Police Department and providing senior leadership in all aspects of university policing, professional policing, organizational change, and community policing. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college. The College sits at #9 on the 2016 list of “Top Public Regional Universities” in the North published by U.S. News & World Report, and is ranked #175 in the Northeast on the Forbes magazine list of “America’s Top Colleges.” The University Police Department works to provide a safe environment for teaching, research and campus activities, and to protect the lives and property of students, employees and visitors of SUNY Oneonta.  The Department is host to the Otsego County Law Enforcement Academy.
