Full-Time Business Analyst, Housing, Dining & Residence Life

Job Description

Nature of Responsibilities: Oversee business-critical applications and systems that are essential to the daily functionality and operations of Housing, Dining and Residential Life (HDRL) to ensure continuous availability, functionality, security, integrity, user training and documentation.  Assist in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of tools to support the work processes. Work closely with administrators, development team members, and end users.  Provide necessary support for key stakeholders in the student experience such the DukeCard, Bursar, and Auxiliary Finance Offices is also very essential.  Effort typically supports Housing Assignments 40%, Duke Card Office 25%, Finance 15%, Dining 15%, US and Other 5%.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Science, Computer Science, or related area.  Two years combined business/work analyst, software quality assurance, or user support/training experience; experience in higher education administration, information technology, technology integration, database management, and business application.

Specific Skills and Competencies: Understanding of project coordination including mapping and process workflow; Proven financial mindset when analyzing data; Ability to work as a member of a team; develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; Excellent planning and organization skills, with proven ability to manage concurrent projects and processes; Technology such as:  Housing Management Software (RMS), Card Access (Blackboard), Student System interfaces (PeopleSoft), Financial Management Systems (SAP), Report writing (Crystal Reports, Telerik, Bb Transact).
