Full-Time Associate Director of Residence Life & Housing

Job Description

The Associate Director of Residence Life & Housing assists the Director of Residence Life and Housing in coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Housing Office and implementing departmental goals, visions, policies, and procedures for a department housing approximately 1,500 students. Provides supervision and training of Residence Life staff including Hall Directors, Coordinators, and Resident Assistants. Provide leadership, implementation, and supervision in the development of residential programming and community building. Responsible for residential management in residence halls and apartment complexes. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Supervises, trains, and evaluates residence life staff, including the Residence Hall Director, Complex Coordinator, and Graduate Hall Directors 2. Coordinates the selection of Resident Assistants 3. Evaluates the RA staff and programming to ensure applicability to the educational mission of the university; is responsible for effectively administering the programming budget 4. Responsible for creating and implementing a residence life programming model that fits both residence halls and apartment living 5. Supervises and coordinates all residence hall openings and closings 6. Resolves personal concerns, development issues, conflicts, and crises affecting resident students 7. Coordinates and promotes programs providing leadership development opportunities for students participating in student governance within the residence halls 8. Assists with the supervision of the student conduct process 9. Coordinates summer camp housing 10. Other duties as assigned Required Experience Three to five years of progressively more responsible and expansive work experience in residence life and housing. The successful candidate will have experience in program development, administration, management, and professional and/or graduate staff supervision. Advanced experience with student conduct is preferred. Education Master’s degree required in college student personnel, counseling, management or related field.
