Full-Time Assistant Director for Clinical Services

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Assistant Director for Clinical Services is a full time, 12-month position that supports the Center for Student Health and Counseling’s mission to enhance learning and student success by advancing the health and well-being of students. The position coordinates and oversees Counseling Services (CS) day-to-day clinical service delivery and operations, including: walk in/triage, emergency services and case assignment/management. The position assists the Director with overall management of CS including: staff and trainee supervision, clinical services utilization trends, and quality improvement analysis and initiatives. In addition, the Assistant Director provides mental health services to students including: brief individual therapy, group psychotherapy, walk in/triage and emergency services, outreach and consultation. The Assistant Director may act as the CS Director’s designee for administrative, clinical, crisis response, and consultation when the Director is absent or when designated by the Director to do so.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Masters degree in Social Work, Counselor Education or related field.
-Licensed as a mental health provider for a minimum of three years with experience providing: triage/assessment, individual and group therapy and case management.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Administrative/clinical program oversight experience.
-Clinical supervision/personnel management experience.
-Previous experience in college/university mental health.
-Strong assessment and database management skills.
-Demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity and ability to foster positive interactive relationships with a diverse population.
-Excellent communication skills, written and oral, including presentation skills.
-Ability to work in a self-disciplined, self-monitored way.
