Full-Time Assistant Director, Business and Guest Services

Job Description

Campus Recreation (CR) at Towson University is currently
accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Business
Operations and Guest Services to ensure the effective and
efficient operations of the department related to business
functions including: revenue generation, program
registrations, payment processing, membership recruitment,
membership registration and services, membership marketing
and communications, facility access, locker room services,
and customer service.

Responsibilities: Coordinate membership services for
students, faculty, staff, alumni and guest including member
questions and concerns, development of membership
structure, fees, policies/procedures, guidelines, personnel
management, registrations, sales, marketing, customer
service, publish member newsletter, and tours and
presentations about CR programs and services; oversee
customer service operations and student staffing related to
access control and guest services; responsible for system
administration of facility software that includes all
transactions for CR related to point of sale,
member/participant facility access, program registration,
financial reporting, membership database, equipment rental,
and locker rentals; assist with oversight of 10
departmental program revenue generating accounts; recruit,
hire, train and directly supervise a diverse student staff
of customer service and membership staff; provide budgetary
oversight for all operations including student payroll,
operational expenses, and programmatic revenue generation;
and supervise Campus Recreation facilities and staff on
designated evenings and weekends as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Business
Administration, Hospitality, Fitness or Recreational
Management or Health Education/Program Management and two
years of experience required. The selected candidate must
have demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience;
knowledge of business operations, financial operations, and
facility operations and risk management; ability to
communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
strong interpersonal, communication and presentation
skills; and demonstrated ability to manage multiple
priorities and work in a diverse environment. Two years of
graduate assistantship experience will count as one year of
work experience. A Criminal Background Investigation is
required for the hired candidate and the results may impact
employment.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration;
experience utilizing and/or knowledge of Fusion facility
software operating system; and CPR and AED certifications.

Salary: Competitive salary and full university benefits

contingent on funds being available at the time of hire.
