Full-Time Administrator – Fraaternity & Sorority Life

Job Description

The Administrator position for Fraternity & Sorority Life
works alongside other Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL)
staff to provide development, support, and advisement for
council and chapter leadership in fraternities and
sororities at Texas Tech University. Roles and
responsibilities may include providing leadership
development, skill building, and guidance to college student
leaders and emerging leaders; supervision of graduate or
student assistant staff supporting the functions of FSL;
program development, planning, and implementation for FSL
including risk management and prevention program; assessment
for programs and student learning outcomes to evaluate the
effectiveness of strategies and to gather stakeholder
feedback; respond to crisis and conduct concerns impacting
the FSL community in coordination with the Dean of Students
and council judicial boards; assist with marketing and
promotions of FSL to prospective and current students,
includes printed materials, special events, websites, and
social media; assisting with the creation of prevention
strategies and partnerships for the long-term improvement of
FSL in such areas as new member experiences, leadership
development, and responsible social events; maintain fiscal
oversight of program budgets and utilize appropriate
procurement and contracting practices; create and sustain
opportunities for chapter and campus advisor and FSL
advisory board communications, trainings, and support;
provide monthly and regular reporting on council and chapter
initiatives; create and provide opportunities for
recognition of student leaders and chapters in FSL; provide
ongoing communications to regional and national headquarters
and volunteer staff of the various chapters; and creating
and sustaining partnerships to assist in the development of
a positive FSL community.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in area of expertise or
closely related area required. Three years of experience in
planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or
research grants. Additional education may substitute for
required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs
or related field is preferred. Experience in Fraternity and
Sorority Life programs and other collegiate student
organizations and activities. Knowledge of the foundational
elements of prevention. Proven organizational skills, time
management, presentation skills, problem-solving abilities,
public relations and crisis management skills. Knowledge of
student development theory and application. Ability to
handle administrative details independently. Ability to
effectively communicate with diverse groups of students,
faculty, staff, and community members. Understanding of
university conduct procedures and other risk management
areas.Ability to plan and implement complex programs and
initiatives.
